The Upstate Collegiate Box Lacrosse League (UCBLL) recently completed its fourth season as a member of the National Collegiate Box Series (NCBS). In August of 2024, the Hawkeyes became the first UCBLL team to win the prestigious NCBS National Championship.
The league, which has teams in Buffalo and Rochester, is among the most successful in the NCBS circuit. Not only have teams advanced to the playoffs of the NCBS National Championships in four straight campaigns, but the UCBLL has seen 13 of its players selected in the National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.
The four UCBLL teams are coached by current and former National Lacrosse League players, including Dalton Sulver, Ian MacKay, Zack Belter, and Chris Cloutier of the Buffalo Bandits. Rochester Knighthawks Dan Coates, Thomas McConvey, Ryland Rees, Ethan O'Connor, and Taylor Jensen also coach in the league.
Current high school seniors to college seniors (including 5th-year NCAA Eligibility) are eligible to play in the UCBLL. If you do not play for or attend a collegiate team and are a high-level box lacrosse player, you must be between the ages of 17-23 to be eligible to play in the UCBLL.
